During Halloween celebrations, every one will try to decorate and beautify their homes especially the children. With beautiful decorations that managed to create an eye-catching atmosphere will definitely makes Halloween even more memorable not only to yourself, the children, but also to the people next to you or your guests who visits your house during that day or even kids who come for trick or treat. Below are some décor ideas enabling you to decide what to decorate during this festive season and Halloween is one of the most décor friendly holidays and also easy to adapt to due to its similarity to the colours of fall.

What you need:

Coloured pens

Coloured paper (in Halloween or autumn/falls colours like black and orange)

Glue

Scissors

Décor accents such as flowers and flower baskets in orange and black

Strobe lights and dry ice

Other scary effects such as self-made fake tombstone, fake coffins, zombie, skeleton etc

pumpkin to make jack-o-lantern or use a ready-made lantern

Method:

Decorating for Halloween is not an expensive work. You can use re-cycle items that you already have in your house and creative ideas to decorate either outside of your house or the interior. You can use children’s art sets for creating Halloween shapes like bats, black cats and pumpkins. The activities can also be a family affair project between parents and children.

You can also create a jack-o-lantern or carve a jack-o-lantern pumpkin for even more festive look to light up the front porch of your house. If you have the budget, you can also purchase ready-made jack-o-lantern pumpkin from your local stores.

It is advisable for you to maintain the interior or living room decoration flexible especially using the autumn/falls theme because Halloween is a one day occasion. The colours to use for the occasion include gold, orange and brown.

Apart from that, orange theme flowers can also be used for arrangement in a black flower basket as a centrepiece either for your dining table or your mantle.

You can also create giant spider webs from cut crepe paper or yam and hang them on your windows or any suitable locations in your house.

Your lawn can also be turned into a cemetery look-a-like by adding fake tombstone that you can make from cut-out cardboard. This can be done just by cutting out the shape according to a tombstone and paint it with gray colour. Design your tombstone with RIP written on it or your preferred wording and then place it on your garden, plus add some dried leaves around the tombstone.

To add scarier look, you can add strobe lights and dry ice on your front porch, or even make a fake coffins on the porch and also hang more spider webs from crepe paper or yarn.

Hopefully with all the above ideas, you will be enjoying decorating your home during the upcoming Halloween celebrations.

During Thanksgiving or Halloween celebrations, it is important for us to decorate and beautify our homes especially when you will be having guest coming to visits you during the holidays. Below is an example for decorating a unique vase by just using a pumpkin. It is simple task to do and provides you to create your very own creation through your creativity. Choose flowers or leaves with colours in accordance to Thanksgiving table setting with autumn-theme decoration or changing it into a Halloween accessory by just draping the vase and its flowers in a spider web.

What you need:
1. Small or Medium size Pumpkin
2. Carving tools
3. Spoon or Pumpkin scooper or your hand
4. Flowers and leaf branches
5. Water
6. Small coffee can, small paint bucket, or glass vase that fits easily into the hollowed out pumpkin.

Method:
1. First of all, you need to decide the exact location to put the pumpkin vase after you have finished decorating it. Choose an appropriate size pumpkin for that particular space because if a pumpkin is too big, it will block your family members or guests view during the dinner.
2. You will have to make some markings on the pumpkin to enable you to know exactly where to cut the pumpkin and also making sure that the pumpkin is cut evenly. To cut the top of the pumpkin, you can use the carving tools. If you do no like to cut it straight, you can cut according to which ever pattern of your preferred choice.
3. Then you need to use a pumpkin scooper or spoon or just use your hands to remove the insides of the pumpkins and all of the seeds. This activity is normally loved by kids, so do not forget to involve them along during the task. You will have to set your pumpkin out to dry before continuing with the next step.
4. You need to select either a small coffee can, or small paint bucket, or glass vase that fits easily into the hollowed out pumpkin and place it inside the pumpkin. In order to make the flower arrangement looks like it sits directly in the pumpkin, you have to ensure that the small coffee can, or small paint bucket or glass vase does not peek out of the top of the pumpkin.
5. You can either display some of the flowers that you plant yourself from your garden, or purchase it from the flower shop. Try to add the flower arrangement along with leaf branches of different heights and various types of colours. Arrange it according to festive floral mood and to your preferred choice or celebrations. Then, you have to add some water and a plant food to ensure the flowers last much longer and also make sure that the flower holder does not overflow with water when placing the floral arrangement inside it. The overflows of water will definitely make your pumpkin rotten.

If you managed to decorate some of the ideas mentioned above, your dinner environment will definitely be in a very different mood with autumn-themed atmosphere.

Enter and be recognized!
Adorn your entrance with these spooky embellishments and be prepared to give your guests a fright of their lifetime.

Batty Branches
Get yourself a pumpkin in the size proportionate to your entry table and start off by cutting the stem flat across the top. Carve out a small hole at the top for a space to hold branches for a treetop.
To make the bats that will be hanging from the branches, cut out bat shapes from patterned Halloween papers which you can get from a crafts store. Tape a thin ribbon at the back of each bat and tie them to the branches. Use your creativity to make it look as though they are truly hanging from the branches.

Patterned Paper Votives
To start, buy 4 to 8-inch straight sided glass votives from a crafts store. For one votive, one sheet of black, patterned and black tissue paper each is required. First, cut a piece of the patterned paper large enough to cover the outside of the votive. Trace a bat shape on the back of the paper and cut out the shape with a small scissor. Next, tape a small sheet of black tissue paper over the cutout and wrap the paper around the votive and tape in back along the seam. To make a border, cut two strips of ½ inch black paper and tape it around the top and bottom edges.

Candy, anyone?
Decide firsthand how many candy-filled cones you intend to make and get one sheet of orange tissue paper and one 12-inch black paper doily for each cone. To cover the doily, you will need to cut the orange tissue paper into a large square shape. Then cut three equally distanced slits into the center of the doily, making sure it stays intact. Shape the doily into a cone and secure the seams with a stapler or tape. Place the earlier cut orange tissue paper inside the cone and fill it with a handful or tasty treats for your guests.
