How to Make a Marble Inlay

  • The first thing that you have to do is to set two 24-inch boards in parallel position where each of them are separated at least 21 inches apart
    • Then, you need to place two 21-inch boards perpendicularly in between the two 24-inch boards so that their sides are flush with the ends of the 21-inch boards.
    • Next thing to do is to lay your cement board on the top of the boards so its edges are all flushed before you proceed with the screwing of the cement board onto the boards. You should use three screws for each of the board.
  • At a 45-degree angle, you have to cut the ends of the 25 1/2-inch boards enabling it to have a trapezoid shape when it is laid down flat on their longest side.
    • The short side of each board needs to be positioned against the 2-by-2-inch boards and the edges of your cement board so that its corners are flush.
    • Position the boards in a way so that its edges are 1/4 inch above your cement board.
    • Next step that you need to do is to take two screws and screw them through each of the boards and through the 2-by-2-inch boards. All of these boards would be able to hold the tiles securely in place.
  • After that, you need to take the tiles that you have chosen for your marble inlays and set them right on the cement board so that they lay down flat.
