How to Tidy a BBQ Mop

  • First of all, you need to take the BBQ mop and rinse it under water so that you can remove all the sauce on the mop before you put it into the dishwasher and run it on regular cycle. This method is used normally for BBQ mop made of silicone material.
    • BBQ mop made of silicone is much easier to clean than BBQ mop made from absorbent material.
    • If you do not have a dishwasher, you can also wash the BBQ mop using a sponge or even use a scrubbing brush along with soap.
    • Once finished and the BBQ mop has been thoroughly cleaned, the mop can be used for your next barbeque session.

By using a BBQ mop you will be adding the much needed moisture and flavor to the meat which is a good barbeque and grilling technique to use whenever you are having a barbeque session

  • As for BBQ mop, which is made from synthetic or ropelike material, you should hold its mop head and rinse it under warm water in order to clean it from any leftover sauce
    • Then, take at least half table spoon of liquid dish soap and rub it onto the BBQ mop material using your hands.
    • Once finished, you have to rinse the soap before soaking the BBQ mop into boiling water for at least five minutes to remove the soap thoroughly, plus also any bacteria, as well as germs that could be hiding in the material.
    • Leave the BBQ mop to air-dry thoroughly.

It is common to use BBQ mops rather than brushes to apply your sauce onto your meat because mops do not scrub the sauce or spices off the meat like brushes do, which in the end will flavor off the meat taste.

  • Another material used to make BBQ mop is cotton where you need to soak the cotton mop in soapy water for at least five minutes.
    • Then, use your hands to work through the cotton mop in order for cotton to release any of the sauce particles.
    • After that, put the BBQ mop inside your dishwasher and run it on regular wash cycle so that all the germs, food and bacteria would come out.
    • If you do not have a dishwasher, you need to scrub the cotton mop using a brush and soap before you start to rinse the soap off the cotton mop. Finally, you should allow the mop to air-dry thoroughly.
    • When you are not using the cotton BBQ mop, make sure that you store it in a clean place, which is free of dust.

Clean your BBQ mop right after you have finished using it because if you leave it for a day or two, it will make it more difficult to clean the BBQ mop. The sauce that sticks on the mop will harden and take you a long time to clean them.

Always remember that if you do not like doing any task of cleaning your BBQ mops

  • Try to use disposable mop heads that you can just throw it away right after any barbeque party once you have finished using them.
  • You should also unscrew the BBQ mop from its handle before doing any cleaning task.
  • Always make it a practice to clean your BBQ mop as soon as you finish doing your barbeque.
