Home Remedy for Raccoon Deterrent

Raccoons in your house yard can be a bad disturbance as they can attack your outdoor pets, messing and vandalizing your garage. Prevent the raccoons away from entering your property by eliminating whatever things that are attracting them or items that might tempt them to explore your belongings. Here are the steps on how you can make home remedy to deter raccoon invasion.

You will need:

  1. Cinder blocks.
  2. Metal trash cans.
  3. Bungee cords.

  1. Firstly, keep your garbage inside metal thrash cans only. Proper placement for your metal trash can within your garage or a free-standing structure such as a shed.
  2. Then, secure the lids of the trash cans using bungee cords and placing cinder blocks on top. The cinder will prevent the raccoons from being able to pry off the lids.
  3. Place your bird feeders in your house or garage for several weeks. The raccoons can be attracted by the bird feeder scent. This will also help to teach the raccoons that there is no food available in the area.
  4. Eliminates another source of the raccoons’ threats by raking up any fallen fruit from trees in your yard and remove it. Avoid leaving pet food in the yard for overnight. The raccoons will eventually lose interest in returning once they realize there is no reason to visit your home yard.
